On 14-15 January, representatives of ten Belarusian districts where the Local Environmental Action Plans are being developed took part in a workshop organised by the Regional Environmental Centre for the Central and Eastern Europe (REC) in Tivat, Montenegro.
The project aims to develop and approve an optimal scenario for the restoration of an important international arterial waterway E40 on the section Dnieper-Vistula. The waterway connects the Baltic and Black Seas (ports of Gdansk and Kherson respectively) through rivers and canals in Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine. The initiative is funded by the European Union within the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine cross-border cooperation programme for 2007-2013.
On December 17, more than 30 culinary businesses from the northern Belarusian region of Vitebsk had a training seminar on serving dishes and raising the overall quality of services provided by wait staff. At the event, which was organized in Polotsk, a Belarusian historical city receiving thousands of tourists, the businesses also signed official forms stating their membership in the European Network of Culinary Heritage. The event was organized as part of the project Bella Cuisine that is funded by the European Union and being implemented by Interakcia Foundation and a group of Latvian and Belarusian state and non-state organizations.
