Between August 31 and September 2, 2018 Light Festival will take place in Polack for the first time. What is it and which activities will be held during this celebration of light art?
Light festivals are held worldwide every year. There are famous celebrations in Lyon, Berlin, Barcelona. This year Polack will join these cities to hold its own Light Festival.
During the festival, 10 light installations will appear on Polack streets. Intense programme is expecting visitors, there will be more than a dozen events in the city and online. Polack citizens and city visitors will see 3D projection on the facade of Dzvina hotel, discover Polack during night city tours and lectures, take part in master class about night photo shooting, visit fire show and take part in a bicycle race. For little guests there will be light puppet shows and workshops on light drawing. Cafes and restaurants in Polack will offer special festival menu.
Current Light Festival will be held during the City Day within the framework of Energy Days, which take place in Polack since 2012.
Light Festival is a part of PubLiCity project, which is funded by the European Union within EU4Energy initiative. Project is being implemented by Polack District Executive Committee and Interakcia Foundation. As a result of project, public lighting will be modernized on 16 Polack streets.
On the weekend, August 18, the festival "INФЕСТ" ended an inclusive camp, which was held in Nalibokskaja pušča, in Valožyn district on the "Bielakoriec" trail. The festival and camp are the part of the "Valožyn without barriers" project, which aims to create an accessible environment for people with disabilities.
