ZOOM. Kids on the Move campaign has been held all over the Europe since 2002. In last two years there were more than 1,300 kids from Belarus participated. ZOOM campaign invites children all over Europe to make their daily journeys independently and in a climate-friendly way.
“Climate Alliance” and its partners suggested German children to collect “green footprints”. Initiative turned out to be popular so now children from all over the world can contribute to the climate protection as well as show the adults how to do it the best way.
In Belarus ZOOM.Kids on the Move campaign has been held since 2015. We are coordinating ZOOM.Kids on the Move campaign in our country. First participants were schoolchildren from Polack and Navapolack, and Orsha and Minsk joined them in 2016.
WHAT CHILDREN ARE DOING DURING ZOOM. KIDS ON THE MOVE CAMPAIGN?
During the week boys and girls are encouraged to walk on foot, ride on a bike, use public transport as often as possible. For each trip made this way to school, friends, library, cinema, cafe, sports section each schoolboy or schoolgirl stick “green footprint” in his or her album.
Then kids are drawing their own “green footprints” and writing on them their ideas how to save the Earth and stop climate change. “Green footprints” will be collected and presented during the ordinary UN Climate Summit in order to thousands people to learn their ideas how to protect the nature.
