On the 18th-19th of October 2018 in Minsk representatives of local authorities from the signatory cities learned how to prioritize actions to reduce negative environmental impacts and transform these activities into financially and economically attractive project proposals.
During the 2 days of training, Marina Borisova and Ivan Shchadranok, the experts of the “Covenant of Mayors” office in Belarus, and Julia Kuhtinskaya, financial manager of ¨Interakcia¨ Foundation paid special attention to the theoretical and practical aspects of the entire project development period - from selecting a problem to identifying financial institutions and donors.
The participants learnt how to prioritize actions to reduce negative environmental impacts and transform these activities into financially and economically attractive project proposals.
For training purposes, all representatives of cities were divided into several groups of conditional municipalities, who were tasked to prepare project proposals and submit them to other groups and coaches. As a result, all participants of the training received the qualified advices.
The training was part of “The Covenant of Mayors-East” , funded by the European Union in the framework of the EU4Energy initiative.
The EU4Energy Initiative covers all EU support to improve energy supply, security and connectivity, as well as to promote energy efficiency and the use of renewables in the Eastern Partner countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
