Energy Days will take place in Polack for the sixth time already. What is going to happen during the celebration of energy efficiency this year?
Polack was first Belarusian city to join European initiative Covenant of Mayors on Climate and Energy in 2011. This city set an ambitious goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020. In order to promote ideas of energy efficiency among citizens, Covenant’s signatories hold Energy Days. Look how people in Polack celebrated Energy Days last year on a link.
The upcoming Energy Days will be held in the run-up to the Light Festival. It will take place this autumn. Polack citizens are invited to join Energy Days both online and during events in the city. Online game, energy efficient quiz during city festival and green quest for schoolchildren will take place. Winners will receive energy efficient prizes. Energy Days - 2018 in Polack will be held in the framework of PubLiCity project. Project is funded by the European Union in the framework of EU4Energy initiative.
The EU4Energy Initiative covers all EU support to improve energy supply, security and connectivity, as well as to promote energy efficiency and the use of renewables in the Eastern Partner countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. It does this by financing projects and programmes that help to reform energy markets and to reduce national energy dependence and consumption. Over the longer term, this makes energy supply more reliable, transparent and affordable, thus reducing energy poverty and energy bills for both citizens and the private sector.More information on: www.EU4Energy.eu.
