What is the Festival of Lights in Polack?
Festival of lights is a holiday of light art which will take this autumn in Polack for the first time. Such holidays are very popular abroad. Light installations will appear on the streets of city centre as well as night city tours, workshops, flashmobs and contests will take place during the event.
Festival of Lights will finish EU-funded project “PubLiCity”. Public lightning on 16 city streets will be replaced by more energy efficient. Polack District Executive Committee and Foundation “Interakcia” are the organizers of the festival.
Project “PubLiCity: energy efficient modernization of public lighting in the city of Polack” is funded by the European Union in the framework of EU4Energy initiative.
The EU4Energy Initiative covers all EU support to improve energy supply, security and connectivity, as well as to promote energy efficiency and the use of renewables in the Eastern Partner countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. It does this by financing projects and programmes that help to reform energy markets and to reduce national energy dependence and consumption. Over the longer term, this makes energy supply more reliable, transparent and affordable, thus reducing energy poverty and energy bills for both citizens and the private sector.More information on: www.EU4Energy.eu.
