What changes in transport and urban planning are needed to make balarusian cities comfortable for all road users? Analys of the situation in the country and recommendations to improve legislation will be introduced at the conference on sustainable urban mobility that will be held on March, 24 in Minsk. Experts in transport, safety of traffic, urban planning, development of bicycle traffic worked on the collection "Sustainable urban mobility planning". Their recommendations on decrease of automobilization level, public transport development and sustainable urban development will be discussed during the conference.
«We learnt succesfull internation experience on construction effective urban transport systems. Problems of transport development in Belarusian cities were analyzed. The collection contains recommendations what statutes and regulations, oraganisational structures, technical and political approaches to change for solving problems», - Anton Radniankou, Project Manager of Interakcia Foundation and co-author of the document said.

Also, Interakcia Foundation issued a collection of recommendaations for project managers "How to engage citizens to participate in your project?". Practival advices on communication and engagement local people based on experience of the project implementation "From energy efficiency to urban mobility" in Polotsk in 2014-2017. The project was the first one in transport sphere in Belarus that was implemented with community involvement. The conference will be held in the frame of "From energy efficiency to urban mobility" project that is being implemented in Polosk since 2104. The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan for Polotsk was developed by local government, experts, civic associations, journalists, and entrepreneurs, this blueprint will allow 85 thousand Polotsk residents to move around the city with more comfort and safety. The first bycicle lane in Polotsk was launched in Sptember 2016, and the route was chosen by the citizens.
